PRESSR: Dulsco Group organizes a campaign to plant mangrove trees in the UAE

The step comes in the context of the group’s contribution to the UAE’s efforts aimed at planting 100 million mangrove trees by 2030.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Dulsco Group organized a campaign to plant 300 mangrove trees with the participation of 100 members of the group’s staff, which includes several companies, including Dulsco Personal Solutions, Dulsco Environmental Solutions, Parisima, and Advance Global Recruitment (AGR), in addition to the teams of its institutional clients such as Al Wafi Foods Factory. BRF), Enoch Link and Fisher, in a step that confirms its commitment to launching and promoting environmental initiatives, and aims to support national efforts aimed at contributing to combating the effects of climate change.

This step comes within the framework of the sustainability agenda adopted by Dulsco Group in preparation for the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP28, with the aim of supporting the national carbon sequestration project in the United Arab Emirates, which Dulsco proudly joined in 2023. This project, launched by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, aims to plant 100 million new mangrove trees across the country by 2030.

Each Dulsco campaign participant planted two trees in the Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary, which is managed by the Emirates Marine Environment Group (EMEG). The latest technologies and virtual reality technology will be used to monitor tree growth and their contribution to reducing carbon emissions through the EcoMatcher application, which provides enhanced transparency for monitoring afforestation efforts.

Mangrove trees play an important role in preserving the environment by stabilizing, protecting, and preventing erosion of coastal soil, and supporting wildlife within coastal ecosystems, providing a habitat for thousands of species of living organisms. It also contributes to reducing harmful greenhouse gases by sequestering up to 15 kg of carbon from one tree each year, which means that the 300 trees planted on November 16 and the 120 trees planted by Dulsco last year will collectively sequester 6,300 kg of carbon. carbon dioxide annually.

The UAE currently hosts 60 million mangrove trees, covering an area of 183 square kilometers and capturing 43,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually. By planting an additional 100 million trees, 115,000 tons of carbon dioxide will be isolated every year.

John Grainger, Chief Operating Officer at Dulsco Environmental Solutions, said: “As a leading force in environmental solutions, Dulsco is proud to support initiatives that contribute to preserving our planet and improving its environmental reality.
